Caltech (Horslyx) and Scotmin (SmartLick) take the health of its employees and associates seriously as well as those who rely on its products. In light of the current Coronavirus (Covid-19) situation, the company has announced its Covid-19 measures following government announcements and direction.
A Business Continuity Plan has been developed by the Business Emergency Team and is reviewed regularly following government recommendations. All employees have been given instruction in the art of correct handwashing and all they can do to protect themselves from Covid-19 with regular correct handwashing, good hygiene – including using hand sanitiser where handwashing is unavailable – and disposing of tissues correctly plus monitoring personal health. Self-isolation is recommended as per the current government guidelines.
To protect employees and production as much as possible all staff who are non-essential to production, order processing and logistics, and who are usually based at the production sites of Silloth and Ayr and can work remotely, have been requested to work from home. This protects the employees vital to producing the product at one of the busiest times of year while also ensuring that the supply to distributors, retailers and end users can continue efficiently.
The sales team has also received revised practices with Nick Mackley, International Account Manager, currently working from home with no travel permitted. From today the UK sales team are all working from home unless express permission is requested.
The team will be using technology such as Microsoft Teams, Skype and Facetime to keep in touch and still carry out training where requested.
The Business Emergency Team will be continually reviewing matters on government advise and direction.
